One of the hardest things about infertility is the waiting...
waiting to see if this month is the magic month when I get pregnant
waiting for a doctor's appointment
waiting to be able to get blood work done
waiting for results from blood work
waiting to figure out what those results mean
waiting to start another cycle when the previous one didn't work
waiting to start adoption process until we have money (it is CRAZY expensive!)
At this point, we're waiting on two different processes to start and those are new work with our infertility specialist and adoption.
That's right folks, we're moving forward.
We met with an infertility specialist two weeks ago and started that process. I've got one test down and a few more to go. No scar tissue in my uterus...check! The initial prognosis from our infertility specialist is diminished ovarian reserve which is exactly what it sounds like. That would mean that I just don't have as many viable follicles ready to become eggs which (of course) decreases my chances of getting pregnant. We're still not sure if that is the reason for our infertility but I guess we'll see.
So if this month isn't the magic month then we will get more tests done starting at the end of next week. But until then, we wait.
The other option we're looking into is adoption. We've always talked about wanting to adopt but never thought it would be the only way we would have children. With that said, we are excited about the possibilities involved with adoption! If there is an unwanted baby out there, we want that baby no matter what race or gender. Information has been requested from two different agencies and we are waiting to figure out if we will have the money to start and where we can get the money to continue the process.
So we have two options in our future. Neither one is a quick solution but both are moving forward. We're excited not to be stuck in the same place. We're hopeful that one of these options will work out. We're waiting to find out how our kid(s) will come to us.
