dear baby. 19 weeks.
Hey Tater Tot,
You have only been in my belly for 19 weeks and it is already difficult to imagine my life without you in it.
Your Dad and I have been waiting for you for a really long time and when we found out you were on your way, we couldn't have been happier! For these last 19 weeks you have been growing so fast, the doctors say that everything looks great and you are right on schedule to be born May 31.
There are a few things I want to write down so that I don't forget (which is really likely since you have taken over a lot of my brain space and I've become kind of forgetful).
We are calling you Tater Tot for a couple of reasons. Your Dad and I don't want to find out if you are a boy or girl until you are born. We really like being able to love you just for being ours. So that we didn't keep calling you "it" or "him/her", we decided to call you Tater Tot. See, your Mom's Mom really loves potatoes and wants her grandmother name to be Spud. She is already calling all of her future grandchildren tater tots so we naturally decided to call you Tater Tot.
Your Dad is so excited to meet you! He tries not to be pushy and ask me about you every time he wants to but I know he thinks about you all the time. We talk about you many times a day and are excited to see which one of us you turn out like. Will you bite your lip (like your Dad) or stick your tongue out (like me) when you are concentrating? Will you love soccer (like me) or Tae Kwon Do (like your Dad) or will you choose something all your own?
Even though all the books said I wouldn't be able to feel you move until around this time, I've felt you moving around in my belly for a few weeks now. You are especially wiggly after I eat and your Dad thinks you'll be like him because you move around the most after I eat spicy food. It makes me a little sad that your Dad can't feel you moving yet but I also kind of like having this time where you are all mine, too. I like to think that you know how much we've wanted you and so you move around a lot to make sure I know you're in there.

You have the cutest little nose! I haven't even met you in person yet but, I mean, just look at that nose! Who wouldn't love that?
There are so many people that love you already. Spud, GrandDock, Pepere and Meemaw are all very excited for your arrival! You are the first grandbaby for Spud and GrandDock and they are eagerly waiting to be able to kiss your cute little nose. It isn't just your grandparents that love you but your aunts, uncles and Mom and Dad's friends, too.
Your Aunt La is learning so much about babies because of you and she can't believe how big you are already! Your Uncle Josh may not say much but he is really excited to show you the farm and your Aunt Christina is already volunteering to babysit. Your Aunt Angie is waiting to cuddle you. Your Uncle Mike keeps asking us to whisper "Go Dawgs" to my belly to make sure you come out a UGA fan. The Beasleys, Lauren, Josh, Jillian and Ms. Bonnie are waiting for your arrival and asking me about you a lot. And there are so many more who love you that I can't even name them all here! Spud and Aunt La say that you don't stand a chance not to be spoiled because you are already so loved...I'm okay with that!
Even though she isn't quite sure what is going on with my belly, Lizzey definitely knows something is different. You have a cuddle buddy that is here waiting to be able to keep you warm while hanging out on the couch.
One of the most exciting things for me so far has been seeing my belly grow! I have wanted a baby bump for a long time and I finally have one! Your Mom's friend Kathleen gave her a pillow to support my belly when I sleep and it is already a lifesaver! During the day, I find myself rubbing my belly and sending love to you because it is the only way I have to let you know I love you right now. As my belly gets bigger, my belly button is almost ready to poke out and I feel you move more each day, I am reminded of how lucky I am that you are on your way!

We're starting to get things ready for you. Your room is cleared out and we are finding you a crib. You already have a swing and some clothes. Spud, Aunt La and Ms. Bonnie are making sure that you have enough books, Di is making sure that we have enough wipes to keep you clean and the Beasleys have given you your first stuffed animal (a sweet little horse).
See...you don't stand a chance.
Love,
Mom
