our new adventure

One fateful day in Augusta Andrew went mountain bike riding with his friend Scott. Since that day, Andrew has talked a lot about buying bikes. It is a fun way to get exercise and be outdoors that he really enjoyed. Almost two years passed and we never bought bikes. There were a few reasons ranging from cost to not knowing whether or not we would actually use them.

Fast forward to one night in our kitchen when Josh and Lauren said that they were thinking about buying bikes. It was like a fire was lit under Andrew and he took it as a sign that the time to buy a bike is now. I was skeptical, mainly because of the price so I convinced Andrew to find some bikes to use on a trial run. Two bikes were borrowed and we soon went on our first ride. I was terrified but Andrew had a light in his eyes that I had not seen before. He was so excited to be on that bike and riding the trails that I knew there was no turning back.

Much research was done and we eventually ended up with two bikes and the gear we needed to transport and ride the bikes. Today was the second time we went riding together (Andrew has gone other times alone and with school friends) and we are LOVING it.

Yes, we come out with battle scars but we wear them proudly. This new hobby has turned out to be a great way for us to enjoy the wonderful trails around our great city, enjoy time with each other and shed a few pounds in the process. Looking forward to our next ride already.

This photo was too cute for me to keep to myself.

She really does smile and it cracks us up every time.

4 months ago we brought her into our home and now we don't know what we ever did without her.
